Adjusting to menopause symptoms can be hard. Literal pain in the posterior is a fact during menopause. Innovative treatments have come a long way in the last 30 years. Your grandmother or great grandmother probably went through menopause without treatment. The remedies that were not available 30 years ago have proven effective in easing the signs of menopause. There are few methods if any that will work for all women. Additionally, many options will prove more effective than their counterparts. Explore the options below for treatments that might work for you.

Thirty minutes of moderate exercise are needed every day. You might not like it but regular exercise is a great way to treat menopause. Aging adjacent diseases like cardiovascular disease and osteoporosis can also be helped by regular aerobic exercise. Exercise can also help you sleep better each night and keeps you in good spirits throughout the day. Giving in to the various symptoms of menopause is harder when endorphins are keeping your spirits up. Stress relief is another benefit of regular exercise!

You probably already know this but in case you haven’t heard: eating a balanced diet is a very effective menopause treatment. Eating a balanced and nutritious diet does quite a lot to keep your whole body healthy. Obviously the needs of a woman who has is going through menopause are different than the needs of a woman who has yet to experience the change. The calcium intake of a woman who is going through and has gone through menopause is going to be higher than a woman who hasn’t “changed” yet. Doctors say that menopausal and post menopausal women need to have at least 1200mgs of calcium every day to help prevent osteoporosis and bone density loss.

Have regular checkups. Women going through menopause need to see their doctors more than once each year. You should see your doctor every three or four months. This helps keep your doctor current with the different treatments you are trying, the symptoms you are experiencing and whether or not things are going well. This can also help your doctor keep track of any medications you might be using to help treat your menopause symptoms. Getting regular pap smears, lipid level tests and other screening evaluations will help your doctor catch conditions as they occur. This will be very helpful if you start to show signs or symptoms of developing osteoporosis or other conditions or diseases.

Treating menopause is a variable activity. A menopause treatment that worked wonderfully for all of the women you know might not work for you at all. This is why, especially if your symptoms are hard to handle, you should talk to your doctor. Your doctor can help you figure out menopause treatments that you can do naturally through lifestyle changes or pharmaceutically through hormone replacement therapy. Eventually you will figure out the best methods for dealing with your symptoms.
